"About the owner" Hello and welcome to Junebug Chesapeakes. My name is Matthew Miller, my wife and I have lived in Mooresville, Indiana for 10 years after living in numerous parts of the country while I was serving in the US Navy. We settled in the Midwest because of employment reasons. I developed a love of retrievers through several years of duck hunting around the Midwest. I have owned and trained both Chesapeakes and Labradors but have fallen in love with the personality of the Chesapeake Bay Retriever. These animals will steal your heart with their loyalty and intelligence and will earn your respect through relentless dedication and desire. We plan to breed approximately one litter of Chesapeakes every two years with "Improving the breed" as our philosophy and top priority. I actively participate in AKC and UKC hunt tests and am a member of the American Chesapeake Club, and the Backwater Retriever Club. I hunt my dogs in both the duck blind and upland fields in excess of 60 days a year and actively participate in Hunt Tests across the Midwest. Traveling from Missouri to Pennsylvania to participate in these tests. I train my personal dogs 4-5 days a week with a local training group that I have put together. We invite you to call or email us anytime for any questions, if you happen to be in our part of the country we invite you to come along for some training and see our dogs work. |
