An Agreement between Matthew Miller (Breeder) and the Buyer: ________________________________________________________________ Breeder agrees to sell to Buyer, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, referred to as Puppy, for $1000 plus any shipping/transportation expenses include the airfare, crate, and veterinarian's health certificate. A deposit of $_________ has been received to reserve puppy. (Deposit will be refunded if no puppies are available.) Please make all payments by Certified Cashiers Check or Money Order paid to the order of: Matthew Miller. In the event that puppy is to be shipped, payment in full must be made before shipping date. In the event of a returned check, the buyer agrees to pay any and all bank fees associated with that returned check. Any shipping costs are to be paid by the purchaser. The buyer agrees to register the dog with the American Kennel Club. The decision to introduce a new puppy into your home is an important step for you and your family. While the benefits of pet ownership are many, these are balanced by new responsibilities that must be assumed by each family member. We recognize that even after careful consideration, unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from fulfilling these obligations. If, for whatever reason, the Buyer cannot or does not wish to maintain custody of this Puppy, the buyer will contact Junebug Chesapeakes prior to selling the dog or placing the dog in another home to discuss placement arrangements. Under no circumstances will the puppy be placed in a shelter. If the dog is found in an SPCA shelter, Humane Society, rescue program or the like, the buyer agrees that all rights of ownership reverts to the Breeder and thereby Breeder becomes the legal owner of the dog with all rights reserved and entitled to. If the buyer asks Junebug Chesapeakes to take a dog back, Junebug Chesapeakes will take the dog back with no compensation due to the buyer. No compensation will be made to the buyer in any case with the exception of those covered by Junebug Chesapeakes Puppy Guarantee. Breeder warrants that the Puppy is a healthy, sound, quality Puppy that is current on all vaccinations. Breeder has provided this puppy with the best possible health care, grooming, and socialization, so s/he is off to a great start as a family pet and hunting companion. Responsibilities of the Buyer The Buyer agrees to provide the highest quality of care for said Puppy, including quality food, water, shelter from heat or cold; active companionship, appropriate exercise, socialization and professional veterinary care whenever necessary. Appropriate professional veterinary care includes, but is not limited to, annual exams, regular parasite checks and worming if necessary, vaccinations as recommended by local protocol, and regular heart worm preventative. Buyer agrees to maintain preventive care of pup in regards to Hip Dysplasia and other skeletal diseases, such as proper nutrition ( including avoiding excessive nutrition), proper exercise and preventing stress injuries. The buyer shall provide the dog with humane care and maintain it in accordance with all current and future state, county and municipal laws where buyer resides. By signing below, the Buyer signifies they have been instructed by the Breeder that socialization is extremely important in the proper rearing of a Chesapeake Bay Retriever Puppy in order for it to become a stable adult dog. Buyer makes absolute promise that this Puppy shall receive socialization with people and other dogs. Buyer agrees to provide the Breeder with reports on the Puppy made by telephone, e-mail or letter. Registration This puppy is being sold with Full Registration Rights. I do no require the use of our Kennel name at this time but you may use it if requested and approved by us in writing. In the interest in protecting the Chesapeake Bay Retriever Breed it is agreed that the below sold dog will only be bred after each of the following conditions has been met: 1. Dog reaches minimum two (2) years of age; 2. Has been x-rayed for hip dysplasia by a licensed veterinarian with film sent to OFA or Penn-Hip and has been certified clear of hip dysplasia 3. CERF rating of Clear to insure the animal is free of inherited eye defects. In the event the Buyer chooses to breed the dog, the buyer agrees that this dog will only be breed to Chesapeake Bay Retrievers that: 1. are AKC or CKC registered. 2. has been certified free of hereditary hip dysplasia or hereditary eye disease and of good temperament. If the dog is bred, accidentally or intentionally before he/she was genetically tested and certified clear all guarantees are void. |
