Matt Miller (Junebug1998 on the forums) is planning a very good Chessie litter for early in the year out of his SH bitch Tess. He's in the process of selecting one of three males now. I train with them...and she's a very special dog. Great personality, serious about her work, tremendous marker. Mike Pendley - Indianapolis, IN " I have been a waterfowl hunter for over 40 years. Most everyday of the duck/goose seasons will find me either in the marsh or stubble-field, along a shoreline, or out in the boat. Throughout the years, my wife and I have had a Chesapeake and a Chesapeake/black Lab mix, our current yellow Lab and a Great Dane. ( an excellent retriever in her own right...of sandwiches sucked off the kitchen counter! ) When I began a search for another Chesapeake, I was a fortunate to have found Junebug Chesapeakes. After researching the lines of Matt's Tess and the intended sire Trapper, I knew this was a litter from which I wanted a pup. Conversations with Matt only made me more confident in this decision. He was highly knowledgeable about the breed and totally committed to the high quality of this pairing. Although separated by a 9 hours drive time, dealing with Matt was as easy as talking with the neighbor next door. Throughout the months of waiting for the litter, we received continual updates from him regarding the pairing, how Tess was doing, vet's prognosis, etc. Once it was time to make my selection (2nd pick male), my wife and I made the drive to Indiana; meeting Matt and his family for the first time. Through all the previous conversations and Email's back and forth, introductions did not even seem necessary. Our pick (call name Moose and registered name Tidewater Marshmaster Moose ) has proven to be of excellent health and conformation, possesses incredible natural ability, and is quite smart (and determined as a Chessie can be) He has quickly become a member of our household, integrated easily with the Lab and Dane, and eventually will become our partner in the field. What can one say, but an excellent experience working with Matt and Junebug Chesapeakes. Jim and Dorene Bonwell West Des Moines, Iowa It has been a true pleasure having had the opportunity to hunt along side Tess and Matt on several occasions. Tess's personality and demeanor is what struck me so strong the first time we shared a blind together. As a non-chessie owner I had that predisposition towards chessies as being bold headed and a bit aggressive. She immediately proved to be anything but that. The first retrieve on our hunt in late season, ice conditions, against river current certainly showed she was full of the desired chessie drive to please her trainer/owner irregardless of the conditions. Needless to say she quickly changed my thoughts towards chesapeakes. Trent Temperly - Indianapolis, IN |
